What data do we collect?
For enquiries or reservations we may collect name, phone, e-mail, rental dates, pickup and return location, selected vehicle, additional services and notes.
For the rental agreement we may need identification documents, driving licence details and other data required for the contract, property protection and payment.
Why do we use the data?
We use data to process enquiries, confirm reservations, prepare the rental agreement, organise pickup and return, provide support, protect vehicles, handle payments, accounting and legal obligations. We send seasonal offers only with your explicit consent (see 08).
Cookies and analytics
We use two categories of cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies are required for basic site functionality (showing the consent banner, remembering your language) and cannot be disabled. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) are placed only after your explicit consent and are used to measure visits and improve performance. Your IP address is anonymized and Google Consent Mode v2 ensures no personal data is sent before consent.
Cookies in use:
_ga,_ga_*(Google Analytics 4): analytics, expires after up to 2 years, set only after you click "Accept all" or save a selection with analytics enabled.kls_cookie_consent_v2(localStorage): essential, stores your cookie decision so the banner does not appear on every visit; without it the decision would be lost.kls_lang_pref_v2(localStorage): essential, remembers that you have seen the language suggestion so the modal does not repeat.
Data transfer: Google Analytics may process data in the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. We do not sell or share analytics data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your consent: you do not have to accept analytics cookies: the reservation system, contact forms and every other feature work equally well without them. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the page footer; the banner will reopen and your new choice will replace the previous one.
Who do we share data with?
We do not sell data. We share it only when needed for rental delivery, website maintenance, insurance, accounting, payment collection or when required by competent authorities and applicable law.
How long do we keep data?
Data is kept as long as needed for the reservation, contract, accounting and legal obligations, dispute handling and property protection. After that it is deleted or anonymised where possible.
Your rights
You may request access, correction, restriction or deletion where the law allows it. Please send enough information so we can identify the relevant reservation or rental agreement.
Seasonal offers by email
If you chose it yourself (a box in the booking form that is not pre-ticked or a button on the request status page), we email you KLS Auto seasonal offers, at most 3 times a year. Consent is not required to book. Consent given while booking becomes active only once you confirm your email address.
For this we use your email address, the language of your request, your name and details of your previous rental (vehicle, year) to personalise the message. As proof of consent we keep the date, how you signed up, the version of the text you saw and the IP address. We do not share your address with anyone.
You can unsubscribe with one click: the link at the bottom of every such email, the button on the request status page, or an email to info@kls.ba. After you unsubscribe we stop sending offers and keep a record of the unsubscription so that we do not write to you again by mistake. Emails about your booking arrive regardless of this choice.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect emails sent before withdrawal. We keep the record of consent and unsubscription while you are subscribed and, after you unsubscribe, only as long as needed to show that we respected your choice.
